When I Began
Late nights, early mornings, a rooster crows... I have had insomnia for as long as I can remember. I always would stay awake long into the early morning, when my siblings would be waking up to go to school but I would get stay home to play all day in my childhood bed which resided in a small office turned Harry Potter-esque closet of a room. What kept me awake? I rarely ever had a nightmare, and if I got scared of the dark I would turn on a night light.

Author Dreams
Waking up from bad dreams is difficult. It's a lot like waking up and peeling the mind away. It's like sleeping but never actually allowing the mind to rest. It's getting entangled in another world, another place, yet the mind only knows it as real. In my dreams last night there was thunder outside my bedroom door, lightening flashing purple, blue, and green. Ghosts awaited me an a twisting staircase. There was something more about land and people, but the dream is quickly fading. And, knowing it was an unpleasant dreams, far I can still taste the emotions it triggered, I say let it fade.

A Funny Idea I had Recently
So I have read a fair few hundred books in my time, thousands, millions, every book written so I think I am the most valuable source of information on good and terrible books. No, I’m just kidding. But I do love to sit and read a book with a cup of coffee every now and then. So I have read loads of books and I have furtherly enjoyed some more than others. But that is how it goes for the general reader, you have your favourite genres, writers and tropes. For me…personally… It's a dystopian future book that has my heart, or a fantasy world where you need to go on a dangerous adventure to save the world, anything with magic that makes me so absorbed in the book I feel like the main character and if I’m feeling frisky you can’t go wrong with a spicy enemies to lovers romance trope.

Biscuits and Blood: the first story I ever wrote
After earning my associates degree at Guilford Technical Community College in 2019 I transferred to the University of North Carolina in Greensboro in 2020 where I majored in media studies. One of the first classes I took in my first semester was screenwriting. We only had one assignment for the whole semester and that was to write a 30 minute long screenplay. Every week we would work on part of our scripts and then go over what needed to modified to make the script a suitable end product.

Cat Food and Coffee
This past Friday after work I had to make an emergency run to my grocery store. That morning I discovered I was running dangerously low on two very important home items: Cat food and Coffee. Thankfully we had enough to start out our day but I was definitely going to have to stop at the store before I got home. After an exhausting day at work I pushed myself to go to the store. I usually avoid going to the store and will either go early on the weekend or order so that it is delivered. But I knew I couldn’t wait until the weekend for the items and ordering only 2 things for delivery would be too expensive. After work, I went into my local grocery store, grabbed my two items and headed for the self-checkout. As I stood in line I couldn’t help but notice I was only holding two small items in my arms. The items were cat food and coffee. I don’t know why but the fact that it was cat food and coffee just made me smile. My life resumed on a shopping trip, just cat food and coffee.
