We talk pucks and objects of that kind. We yell, complain, and analyze in the language of hockey fandom. Gretzky can do no wrong.
Breaking through barriers
It's World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend, the IIHF’s annual festival of the grassroots female game. Over the next few days, I’ll be helping put together coverage at IIHF.com. But before now, I wanted to look back to 2019 when I took my daughter, just past her third birthday, along to a local event for the first time.

Put Some Respect on His Name
Forgive the lateness of this recap; so much goodness happened in the world of sports. It's typical of the month of October; the most chaotic month in the sports calendar. Yes, Utah's team finally has a name.

Year #29, despite it being Nathan MacKinnon's number, did not end well for us. It didn't start well for us either. An 0-4 start that saw us go through a lot of players--49 of them, to be exact.
