Looking at the question of how to move into a healthier 2021 posed so many answers. Some answers were the words of my grandmother echoing in my mind, smiling as she tells me I am a beautiful girl. I wish she was still here with me today, so I could ask her if I am also beautiful woman. The voice of my year ten sports teacher yelling at me to try harder. Followed by the gentle conversation with my friend Lucy, in gymnasium changerooms, telling me it is okay. Trying to convince me that I didn't need to be the fastest or the skinniest. And then telling my that Mr Jenston is just a bully. I cried a lot to Lucy during my high school years. I don't think Mr Jenston ever knew.

What if one day you woke up in pain and couldn’t move to go to the bathroom, hours later you finally found the strength to get up out of the bed. What if you got up to go to work found yourself in intense pains all over your body, you had to leave work early due to the fatigue you were feeling? From there you go home and try to sleep it off, only to find yourself in a non-restful state. Down the road things don’t get better, they get worse. Only now you start forgetting words or conversations, headaches have become regular, pelvic pain increases, you obtain skin rashes, and as a result depression or anxiety step in. It’s gotten to the point where there's a need to search for help, and find what the underlying cause may be. You go to the doctor tell them the symptoms that have been going on for months and months. The Doctor tells you “This sounds like Fibromyalgia, and there is no cure. We can help with the pain with with medications, but you will never fully heal from this disease,” behind your doctor's mind is the thought that this is a made up disease and its all in the patients head. So you do as the doctor prescribes and giving your best to move forward in a low quality of life with no added answers.

Causes for Charley Horses in your legs A charley horse is a muscle contraction that may occur when your muscle suddenly tightens up on its own. These cramps can happen in any part of the body but are most common in the legs. These muscle spasms mostly occur in the skeletal muscles as they are attached to the bones which we typically control voluntarily such as the muscles of our hands, legs and feet. Though generally harmless, muscle cramps may result in temporary loss of mobility of the muscles that may be affected. Long periods of physical exercise can lead to muscle cramps, especially during hot weather. However, there are other more significant reasons that result in charley horses in our legs.
