Soul Searching

Who Rescues Me

By Luke HaymonsPublished about 8 hours ago 1 min read
Jesus opening the tomb

If I am called to pass again

through trials and troubles sore,

I know to quickly turn to Him

Who rescued me before.

When chaos and confusion come

and think to steal my peace,

I pray to God, and in His Son,

my faith and hope increase.

Though I may suffer heartache still,

and tears my pillow wet;

I know to Whom I owe my will

and I cannot forget.

Each time I think a task too great

or road ahead too grim,

I bow my head and lift my voice

in gratitude to Him.

It’s true that when beneath my trials

I think I’ll soon be crushed.

Then lifting me, He gently smiles

and all my fears are hushed.

And so, imperfect as I am,

and doubtful as I’ve been,

I know just what and Whose I am-

Who saves my soul from sin.
