More Lies

What Comes Back

By Julie LacksonenPublished about 3 hours ago Updated about 2 hours ago 1 min read

You've lied before

Thousands of times.

You spoke, and still all I heard

Was a house of cards in every word.

Fall, they will.

Because the weight of truth

Is continually lost on you.

Your thread of words falls out of line,

Stitched into something you call divine.

Another lie.

Keep your stories,

Your smarmy voice,

Your rehearsed smirk,

Your paper crown,

Your thinly veiled disguise.

You buy other's devotion,

But many see through you.

We want the truth.

We beg for the truth.

All you utter is the same lying song and dance.

Hail to the chief

Of lies.

Some jobs are only filled by liars and thieves. Good job on this one.
