Alone in a Dream

Can you hear me?

By Amos GladePublished about 15 hours ago 1 min read

Hey, you.

I wanted to let you know that I heard your cry.

I listened and I understood. I hear you.

Sometimes I like to think about my place in the universe, and I close my eyes and I imagine that whatever it is that makes myself me, body and soul, is a single atom amongst the infinite fabric of space and time.

Insignificant.

Yet, I matter to myself.

Of fate or free will.

Are you able to have both? Is there any other option? Science tells us that it could exist, but only if it has a reason. Faith tells us that it might exist, but only if it can be dreamt.

Reasonable dreams and dreams of reason.

A porous translucent Schrödinger boundary of existence.

In a moment you cease to exist and simultaneously you never stopped because the pieces of you still exist and once existed. Your existence changed. Evolved.

Does it matter what kind of matter you become?

Do you fear becoming antimatter?

I know what it’s like to feel billions of miles away, like you’re from a distant galaxy. Unsure if you’re alone. Unclear if you’re searching for meaning or purpose.

This isn’t the end.

You’ll be back again.

I’ll be right there with you.
