Aging Is The Pits Sometimes

But then again, no one wants the alternative

I don't want to die

and yet, why? Big sigh!

I'm having too much fun

Living on the run

Sitting in the sun

Practicing with my gun

This is not a pun

Putting my hair into a bun

I'm losing my hair

and I don't dare

complain to my son

as he has spun

right past hair loss

and is balding

it was falling

out in his 30s

maybe his 40s

no, maybe even his 20s

My hubby is bald

and shaves his head. He called

me baldy when I had cancer

I survived that, and he is not a romancer.

Death has come too soon to many family,

and friends, leaving me shakily

wondering how long I really have now

before it is time to take a bow

and say the end is near.

Never, ever will I be ready

Life is good to me

And I plan to be

around for a while yet

And you can bet

I will have a smile on my face

and dress in old lace

And I will grace everyone

with some rhyming fun

I will be sitting in the sun

With my gun

Ready to run

My hair will be in a bun

My son will take me on trips

Maybe to sunset strips

Just don't see me at my

funeral, as I'm too young to die

P.S. I'm not afraid to die, as I have done

that already once. Today, I believe I won!

Unique take on the challenge. I especially like: “Living on the run Sitting in the sun Practicing with my gun This is not a pun Putting my hair into a bun”😉. I agree… make the most of each day.
