A Moment with an Emerald Fly

The biggest impact from the tiniest thing

A green fly up close

I’ll never forget one simple moment, years ago. I was trying to meditate, raise my consciousness, and then a tiny little being flew down to my hand.

It was a green fly, which you don’t see as many of. And I remember, the way the sunlight glinted on its body… I decided I would call it “emerald” instead.

The emerald fly looked around calmly atop the skin of my hand before settling into one spot. As I watch it, so serene, I wondered why it landed on me, of all places.

The answer came pretty quickly… because it was a sign.

Maybe the universe was working through one of its tiniest beings to let me know something profound: don’t try so hard. In fact, don’t try at all. It’ll all fit into place when you don’t keep hoping and trying, but just do. Imagine that….
