Why Aren't Stalking Cases Taken More Seriously?

Stalking is one of the scariest crimes in the world.

Stalking has always scared the crap out of me. I have heard of so many cases, and while some cases are taken seriously, the majority of them are completely ignored. It doesn't matter who you are, not even celebrities are safe from people like this. Stalkers will find a way to reach you somehow, no matter how difficult it is to reach you, and that is what makes them so scary.

One case that I recently heard about was one of the scariest stalkers I have heard of.

There was even a movie made on the story, due to the insane levels that the stalker was willing to go.

I'm going to refrain from saying the woman's name out of privacy reasons, so I will call her Jane. This woman was excited to begin her new life in the city, and she went to work for a big company. One of her co - workers named Richard Farley, began to stalk her. It went on for four years, and no matter what Jane did to escape from him, he found a way to reach her.

She finally reported the stalking to the company, but none of them ever took it seriously. They eventually did fire Richard at some point, and he straight up threatened to shoot up the company, and even told other employees about this threat.

Literally no one took this guy seriously, and because the company didn't bother to take any action, Farley showed up to the company one day with a gun, killed several people, and injured many. He did also shoot Jane, but he left her alive on purpose. Survivors were able to escape from the building, and Richard was arrested for his crimes.

Jane later did give out an interview on television, to tell her story about what she went through. I felt so sorry for this woman, and I was so mad that the company didn't bother to report Richard. This tragedy could have been easily prevented, but the company never took this case seriously.

If I'm not mistaken, this was one of the few cases where the stalking laws were finally passed, but it was a massive shame that it took so long before it was too late.

Another crazy case I heard about, involved a celebrity. I won't say the celebrity's name out of privacy again, so I will call him Jake. This guy lived in a fancy house with his entire family, and he started to find red ribbons tied in some areas of his property. A woman that was a fan of his, had somehow found out where he lived, and was going over to leave behind red ribbons, for some reason.

The celebrity immediately took action, because of his family's safety.

I don't understand the mindset of these stalkers.

Did she assume that this celebrity would leave his wife and children for her???

Stalkers are so scary, because you never know what to expect with these people. What if the celebrity hadn't taken action, and this mystery woman decided to go to the next level, by becoming extremely dangerous?

Jane's case should have been taken very seriously, but the company refused, and it led to several people getting killed by her stalker.

I feel so bad for people who go through crazy shit like this. I can't imagine how stressful and untrustful anyone would become after an experience like this. It's crazy how these stalkers are willing to do whatever it takes to reach their targets. Cyberstalking has only made it easier for people like this, using technology to somehow get a hold of their target's location, or find a way to reach them.

I feel so sorry for people who go through this, and I hope that one day, every single stalking case will be taken seriously.
